Biographical Information of Richard R.Guiley

Rick Guiley is a life-long Stark County resident. Born in Louisville, he graduated from Louisville High School and then completed college at the University of Akron. Thereafter, he attended the University of Akron School of Law as an evening student while employed as Bailiff for Judge Reader in the Stark County Common Pleas Court - Domestic Relations Division. In 1985, Rick graduated from law school and became licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.

Rick's law practice emphasizes personal injury, domestic relations, corporate collections, and litigation involving auto dealers and the Ohio Consumer Sales Practice Act. In addition, he regularly meets with individuals and spouses to handle estate planning.

Rick's hobbies involve antiquing (he especially enjoys refinishing five-legged oak extension tables) fishin' (when the fish find him), comic book collecting (Spider-Man only, please) and Hardy Boy Book collecting (only those with dust jackets). Rick attends First Friends Church in Canton, Ohio and is proud of the Friends quaker heritage. He believes some of the quaker traditions and teachings help him remain calm in a world prone to conflict - something especially useful in the practice of law.

He is the lecturer and author of an in-depth manual for auto dealers about the Ohio Consumer Sales Practice Act. His manual is printed by Blackstone Legal Publications, Inc. Rick also regularly gives presentations concerning estate planning.
