Consumer Law and Automobile Sales, Repairs and Service in Ohio

The purchase of a new or used automobile is a very significant financial undertaking for most consumers. The auto is an extension of their personality and financial status. In order to entice customers onto their lots, auto dealers and manufacturers have become very creative with their advertising. And once the consumer is on the lot, dealerships and financial institutions have become equally creative in their financing arrangements. As a consequence, the rules and laws affecting auto dealers and advertising have become much more strict.

Richard R. Guiley has spent a considerable amount of his legal career researching, writing and lecturing on the issues of auto sales and repairs and the Ohio Consumer Sales Practice Act. Likewise, he has been involved in litigation representing both consumers and dealerships. Currently, he spends most of his time representing auto dealers who find themselves confronted with litigation or with the threat of litigation. Richard R. Guiley is the author of the 1996 Ohio Automobile Sale Law Seminar book published and sold by Blackstone Legal Publications, Inc..
